With each passing decade, ‘Victor Dwyer’ has grown to become an essential part of Drogheda’s fabric and we are extremely proud of our reputation within the locality. While we are known for our range of excellent products, this reputation is also down to our incredibly dedicated staff. Their friendly welcome, wealth of experience and rapport with all our customers is something we truly pride ourselves on.

With seven decades of tradition, ‘Victor Dwyer’ is a ladies and children’s shoe store that has been at the heart of the Drogheda community for generations. We are footwear specialists with unrivalled customer service and an outstanding range of products to suit every taste, age and life event. Since opening in 1953, we have become renowned for our trendsetting and extensive selection of shoes, not to mention our friendly and knowledgeable staff.

As a family orientated store, our shop has been blessed to celebrate some of the most important occasions with our customers, from a baby’s first shoe to communions, confirmations, weddings and more. Whether it be for a night on the town or a comfortable, wide-fit practical shoe, visit us in store or browse our online range today.

Our store on 6 Shop Street has welcomed a hundred thousand footsteps since it first opened its doors on 13 November 1953.

Originally run by Paddy and Carmel Dwyer, the shop has undoubtedly changed since its earliest incarnation but it has never lost its family feel and welcoming atmosphere. Originally a leather and accessory store, the Dwyers began selling high quality footwear to all those in the local community and further afield.

Their son, Victor, joined the family business in 1974 and has given his life to it ever since. Inspired by the attitude of his parents, Victor became engrossed in the industry and over 40 years later he is still visiting seasonal retailer fairs across Europe, spotting new fashion trends and introducing quality products to the local consumer.

Having joined the family business in 1978, Victor’s brother, Paddy Dwyer Jr, opened up his own store, straight across the street, in 1985. The brothers decided that Paddy would specialise in men’s and sports footwear, while Victor would cater for ladies and children in the original 6 Shop Street store.

Victor’s wife, Margo, joined him in the shop in the late 1980's and now the next generation is also involved in the family business, with Richard joining his parents in 2019, while Paddy’s daughter, Sarah Jane, is also an integral part of his store, which is today located at 11 Shop Street.
